There are many situations that you could be dealing with today. Maybe you have been affected by COVID-19 by actually getting the virus. Or maybe a loved one or someone you know has been infected. You may have lost your job due to all of the business closures. Or maybe what you are going through has nothing to do with a virus, but whatever it is, you feel like you can’t keep your head above water. One devastating thing leads to another and eventually all your problems are piled on top of each other causing fear, worry, and anxiety. It seems as though you are drowning and there is nothing you can do about it. Be encouraged . . . there is good news for you today!

Let the verses in Isaiah 43 sink deep into your heart. Verses 1-3 tells us to not be afraid, that God has called us by name, that we are His! That when we go through deep waters, He will be with us. When we go through rivers of difficulty, we will not drown. And that when we walk through the fire of oppression, we will not be burned, the flames will not consume us! What a promise! But the key is trusting in God to see you through. Difficult situations can do two things . . . overtake you or force you to grow stronger. If you try to get through them in your own strength, you are more likely to drown. But if you invite the Lord to go with you, he will protect you, help you, and give you the strength to make it through. He will provide a way out of your difficult situation. Moses and the Israelites were facing deep waters at the Red Sea when the Egyptians were chasing after them. But Isaiah 43:16 (NLT) reminds us what God did. He says, “I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea.”

So, ARE YOU IN DEEP WATER? If you are, let God take you by the hand and lead you, and make a way where there seems to be no way! He can do the impossible!
