Have you every met someone who you trusted completely and later on you were burned by it as you found out how untrustworthy and deceitful they really were? You are not alone and it can happen to the best of us. Our nature can be to trust someone at face value and the best liars and manipulators are very good at taking partial or half truths and making you believe they are not lying or doing anything wrong. For King Hezekiah he ended up showing the Babylonians everything in the kingdom. He let the future conquerors of Israel know their defenses and all the wealth they would covet and want to take. Isaiah though saw through it and generally when we are being deceived like King Hezekiah, there is an Isaiah who can see right through the deceit of the Babylonian in our life. The problem is a lot of times we do not want to listen or find out the deceitful person is really that bad. We even make excuses for their behavior and allow the lies to continue even getting sucked into them. Today though we have a choice if you have a Babylonian in your live and their is an Isaiah warning you about the deceit take some time to pray and listen to God and hear his direction. An Isaiah will encourage you and pray with you as you desire to hear God’s voice. While a Babylonian will focus on what is best for them. Today take these steps as you seek God’s face.

1. Take time to fast and pray that the Lord will reveal the hidden motives of those that would seek to influence you.

2. Ask who is promoting their own agenda and self-interest?

3. Ask who is looking out for your best interests.
