Do Unto Others ...
How do you treat other people? Do you keep or break the promises you make? Are your expectations of other people higher than the ones you live by? Check out Isaiah 33 to see how the Assyrians acted. #YFA #iDevo
So many people in today’s world only care about themselves. We live in a “me” society . . . where the thought is what can you do for me instead of what can I do for you? People do whatever it takes to get what they want. And it doesn’t matter to them who they hurt in the process. In the very first verse of Isaiah 33, we see that the Assyrians had this same mentality. “What sorrow awaits you Assyrians, who have destroyed others but have never been destroyed yourselves. You betray others, but you have never been betrayed” (NLT).
Assyria continually broke its promises but demanded that others keep theirs. In the natural, it is easy to be like the Assyrians . . . demanding our own rights while ignoring the rights of others. What promises have you made that you haven’t kept? Broken promises shatter trust and destroy relationships. Trying to get what you want at the expense of others can be very damaging and hurtful and you will have to answer for it.
Treat others with the same fairness that you demand for yourself. Be kind. Keep your word. Put others first. Follow through with your promises. Live by the golden rule - DO UNTO OTHERS . . . AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU!!
