Fear Is A Liar!
What are you afraid of? Death? Eternity? Health Issues? Financial calamity? Uncertain economy? Read Isaiah 12 to be encouraged! There’s a better day coming! #YFA #iDevo #NoFear
Life is full of events and circumstances that create unnecessary fear, either immediately or over time. Fear in and of itself is not wrong or a sin. We’re human. We’re emotional. Things get tough. We all battle this emotion often in a given day. The sin is when we allow fear to dictate our lives and relationships. At that point, we have to draw the proverbial line in the sand to this enemy! Because, the reality is . . . he is a liar!
In the previous chapter, Isaiah 11, the prophet gives us a picture of an eternity with Christ ruling and reigning. No more pain. No more suffering. No more anger or animosity. Wow! What a day! And chapter 12 builds on that future reality. Verse 1 says, “In that day you will say: ‘I will praise you, O Lord.’” Be encouraged! There’s a better day coming! Our hope is not in this world or in this life. Then, is verse 2, Isaiah gives us a promise that we can hang our hat on - “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.”
If your hope is in this world, you NEED to be afraid! If your faith is in your money or your job or your spouse or your employer, you NEED to be afraid! If you haven’t put your total, 100%, uncompromising trust in Jesus Christ, you NEED to be afraid! BUT, if you have settled the sin issue in your life, and you are living your life everyday to bring glory to Him, then be encouraged . . . there’s a better day coming! Jesus is about to return and settle the score with the enemy! In the meantime, hang in there. Don’t lose heart. Don’t give up and don’t give in to the Devil. Isaiah chapters 11 and 12 will become reality very, very soon! And, the bottom line is, “FEAR IS A LIAR!”
