Run Away
Do you know the difference between what you should pursue and what you should run away from? Check out 2 Timothy 2. #YFA #iDevo
We are pretty good as believers at knowing what to pursue. Pursuing righteousness, faith, love, and peace are generally something we can all get behind. What gets us though is what to run away from. See the problem with running away is normally we don’t realize there is a danger or the need to run away. There is no big red warning sign in life saying don’t do this, instead what happens is we end up in a situation where little by little our values and ideals are compromised. That is the challenge for us as believers.
We have to understand when something is not going to end well and that what initially is not a sin could lead to one. As a youth pastor I used to remind my students that dating a non-Christian while not necessarily a sin was likely to lead you to sin because people are more likely to pull you down to their level than you pull them up to yours. It is like this with a lot of things in the world. The world may say something is ok, but it can lead to sin for the believer. We then have to recognize what can draw us on a path to sin and make the choice to run or flee from it.
Take some time today to examine yourself and see if there is anything you need to be running away from.
