Faith Over Fear

We live in a day and age where fear has taken hold of the nation and the world. We have shortages of goods, businesses and schools closed, and a world in panic. As believers though we have a choice to give in to the fear that we see or have faith and trust in the promises God has given us. Now this is not to say we should disregard our authority or not follow medical advice and direction. What it is to say is that during a crisis we have the choice to be like everyone else or to be a shining beacon of hope that points to Christ.

Paul challenged Timothy and reminded him God did not give him a spirit of fear and timidity instead God gives us power, love, and self-discipline. As believers we do not have to live in fear of disease, death, or any other issue because we have the promise of eternity where there is no death or sickness. That means in this present age we can choose love and compassion. Helping our neighbors, co-workers, and friends in their time of need. We can rejoice in our health and join in prayer for those who are sick or have loved ones who are sick.

We have the option today to spend time renewing our focus on God as the distractions of life have been removed. The question though is will we choose FAITH or FEAR?
