Battle Plan

Are you facing “war” in your life? Feel like you are being attacked? Struggling with conflict? Look at Isaiah 22:8-11 and be reminded of how to truly be battle ready!

Let’s face it . . . there can be times in your life when it feels like you are being attacked on all sides. Even as Christians, there will be trials and tribulations to go through. Problems arise, conflict happens, and issues surface that have to be dealt with! It just comes with living in this imperfect temporary home on earth. So what are we supposed to do when we face these types of battles? Check out Isaiah 22 to see what not to do!

The Lord gave Isaiah a message concerning Jerusalem. Jerusalem would be attacked unless they returned to God. Instead of repenting and asking God for help, they relied on their own means of protection. They trusted in their own ingenuity to fight the battle. The leaders of Judah did what they could to prepare for war. In verses 8-11, they got their weapons, inspected their walls, and stored up water in a reservoir. However, they forgot the most important thing . . . to ask God for help! All of their work was in vain because they left God out of the battle plan.

When we encounter challenges in our life, we must ask God for help! Yes, we can do our part in the matter, but without God, we are doomed to lose the “war”! He must be the One guiding and leading our decisions. Proverbs 16:9 says “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps” (NLT).  Let Him show you the way. Release it to God and let Him take control. Really the battle is His anyway. He MUST be the center of your BATTLE PLAN!
