Yes, Money Has Wings!

Money!  Money! Money!  The sure path to happiness, right?  Well, sad to say, that’s what many people think.  I’ve heard people say, “If I could just win the lottery, I could live on easy street!”  If you researched the truth, though, you’d find out that many, many people who have won the lottery squandered their winnings in a relatively short period of time because they didn’t know how to manage it.

Let me shock you . . . Did you know that Jesus said more about money than any other subject?  Strange, isn’t it? Well, He knew the nature of man, and He knew that we were ALL weak in this area.  Understand: there’s nothing wrong with money! It is a “tool” that we use as God’s children to live on and to support God’s Kingdom.  Having money is not wrong and it’s not right. If God ever blesses you with a windfall of money, your responsibility is to be a “channel” that God uses to bless other people.  The sin is when you start hoarding or loving money (1 Tim. 6:10). Don’t ever let money rule you. Rather, you rule the money God blesses you with.

Here’s God’s economy.  This is His desire for all of His children . . . Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”  Pretty sound advice, right?  In this chapter He is addressing our daily needs, our need for enough money to make ends meet.  He is saying, “Give me your ALL and I will take care of ALL of your earthly needs!”  Money is not the issue.  Right priorities are the issue.

YES, MONEY HAS WINGS!  Proverbs 23:4-5, “Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.  Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.”
