Science described the creation of our universe as the Big Bang. That all the current and past matter of the universe came into existence at the same time in a powerful explosion that then rapidly expanded outward. It is pretty cool when you think about it but the real question is does the Bible agree or disagree with it. The Bible also talks about the beginning of creation. That in the Beginning the universe was formless and void until God spoke it into existence (words). Bang and creation happened. Isn’t it funny that secular science less than 100 years ago comes up with a theory to explain creation that was written 6,000 years ago in Scripture. The thing science still can’t figure out is how the “bang” started or where the initial singularity came from, as believers though we know the creator of the universe caused the bang. And specifically that everything in the universe was created through Jesus.

The really cool thing as you read Genesis 1 and John 1 is seeing the trinity in the Beginning. God the father, Holy Spirit (Spirit of God hovering over the expanse), and Jesus the Son of God (Spoken Word). All three parts of the trinity were present at creation. So today take some time to read John 1 and gain a new perspective on Genesis 1.
