Racism and Christ
Is it ok for a Christian to be racist? Check out Gal 3:26-29 & Col 3:10-17. #iDevo #YFA #LivingLeadership #MLK
In today’s society we see people treating others badly because of the country they come from the color of their skin, their social status, and a host of other things. Even people who profess to be believers can be called racist or discriminate against other people. Paul though makes it clear in his letters to the Galatians and Colossians that racism is not ok and that in Christ we are all the same whether we have different skin color, were born in a difference country, come from different social levels, or are male or female. Check it out below.
Jew or Gentile: Basically if you were not a Jew you were considered a Gentile so every other nation in the world. So regardless of where you were born or the color of your skin it does not matter to God and should not matter to believers.
Male or Female: Sexism need not apply in the church. In Christ males and females are equal.
Slave or free, barbaric or civilized: Social status and money do not matter in Christ we are are equal whether we come from what society would consider the lowest class or the highest.
So in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King a man who said he dreamed of a day when men would be judged, “Not by the color of their skin but the content of their character.” It is a reminder that we should do the same and remember in Christ we are all equal and racism should never be part of who we are.
