Jealous Much?
Don't you just hate when someone is better than you? Read 1 Sam 19:1-10. Is this good or bad leadership? #iDevo #YFA #LivingLeadership
Saul was still jealous of David but his son Jonathan tried to talk some sense into him. It looked like it worked but then David had more success and Saul was back to square one ready to kill him and at one point hurdles a spear at him.
Home much of this though is us. We spend time setting high scores on video games, getting good grades, trying to do things better than someone else and a lot of times we can be successful. But then someone else comes along and they are more successful than us. They beat a high score, break a record, are more skillful or more talented than us and we have a choice. Do we sabotage their efforts so they fall short or play tricks with their mind and cause them to make mistakes. Basically do we try to tear them down so we stay better than them or do we try to encourage, teach, help and train them to be even better than we are. Saul’s choice was to throw spears, our can be a whole lot better. So the next time jealousy and hatred get in the way, allow God to replace it with love and compassion.
