Heaven/Eternity - Check out Luke 16:19-31
Do you know where you’re going to spend eternity? YOU CAN! It’s not a guessing game! Accept Christ as your Lord and Savior = heaven. NOT making that decision = hell. It’s that simple. Read the parable in Luke 16:19-31. It’s pretty graphic!
Luke 16:19-31
Recently, I took a side-job painting a house where renters had moved out. I love to paint a room! What was dingy seems shiny and new! It’s INSTANT gratification! I get to see the full and finished picture and I feel so accomplished. So much of our life is a constant progression, never seeing it all complete! The challenge for followers of Christ is to take each moment for what God is doing now and to see things in the right perspective. Everything we do now is building a life for eternity. One day, this life will end and our real life will begin! In Luke 16:19, Jesus tells a story of a man who spent his whole life indulging in every fine thing earth had to offer, consuming lavish food and filling his days with temporary pleasures. What was more, he chose not to share with others from all he had. He lived his life for INSTANT gratification. In contrast, another man named Lazarus had a hard life. He had a disease that gave him sores and left him unable to work. To make matters worse, he lived just outside the house of the rich man, begging for scraps. The rich man did not lift a finger to help and wouldn’t even be moved to share the leftovers from his lavish feasting. Then, both men came to the end of their lives. READ Luke 16:19-31 AND SEE THE OUTCOME What would happen if we chose to live in this life for the one to come? What if we built our lives for the eternity that we will ALL eventually live in? CHALLENGE: list 3 ways you can begin to build a life in eternity now rather than placing your focus on temporary pleasures and MAKE A PLAN to take action in those 3 things!
