What Color Are You - Red or White?

Is your life marked by rebellion & total disregard for the laws of God?  Are you trying to get to heaven on your parents or grandparents coattails?  How will you answer for yourself when you stand before God? Consider the promise the prophet Isaiah gave us in chapter 1! #YFA #iDevo

Isaiah is what we know as one of the “major” prophets in the Old Testament - “major” in the sense that his book is really lengthy compared to the final 12 books of the Old Testament.   (The final 12 books were written by the “minor” prophets.)

During the time of Isaiah, the 12 tribes of Israel were divided into two kingdoms - the Northern, consisting of 10 tribes, and the Southern with only two tribes - Judah and Benjamin.   Isaiah’s prophecies were directed specifically to the Southern tribes.

Here was Judah and Benjamin’s problem in a nutshell - they had a great heritage, they were God’s called and chosen people.   God had delivered all 12 tribes from Egyptian bondage and led them to the promised land. But over time, they became complacent and satisfied.   They rebelled against God by worshipping the false gods of neighboring nations. You see, sin is progressive. It stockpiles, and if not repented of, will result in losing out with God totally!   You may think your “little white lies” and sinful lifestyle are going unnoticed, but don’t be fooled.   God sees it all, AND He’s keeping a record!

A good heritage is not enough.   Being raised in Sunday School and church are great, but they don’t guarantee anything.   Your parents’ relationship with God won’t get YOU into heaven.

Here’s the good news, though.   It applied to the children of Israel and it applies to you.   All you have to do is repent, confess your sins to God, and in a moment’s time, your RED will become WHITE!   Consider what the prophet said in chapter one and verse 18 and get a new lease on life! Read it! YOU CAN DO THIS!   Don’t wait. We’re praying for you.
