The end of Chapter 4 has Esther deciding to fast and pray for 3 days before she goes before the king. It was life or death time since the king had not summoned her, she could be put to death for what she was about to do. How many times do we have something to do, we know God has called us to do it and immediately try to get it done. We skip the prayer and fasting because they do not seem like actions. Our impatience gets the better of us when God is asking us to be patience, trust Him, and hear his voice for direction.

Truth is prayer and fasting are an action for a believer. It allows us to hear and know the heartbeat of God. What important thing or decision is coming up in your life and check yourself on how much time you have devoted to God on it through prayer and fasting?
