Judging Others
Can we judge ourselves by our intentions and others by their actions? Check out Romans 2:1-11. #YFA #iDevo #LivingLeadership
So many times in life it can be easy to look at what someone else is doing. Especially if it seems worst than what we ourselves are doing or society makes their actions out to be worst than ours. Our flesh wants to judge and say, “we’re not that bad” or “look at what they are doing” and gloss over our own shortcomings or failings. Paul though gets pretty specific here in Romans. The end of chapter 1 points out the really bad things like murder, sexual immorality, and the other really evil acts we would never do as believers. But it also adds in the things we can struggle with on a daily basis. Things like gossip, envy, being deceptive.
Let be honest those we look at our short comings and a lot of times we judge ourselves based on our intentions. My plan was to do this or circumstances caused something to get out of control. Maybe we were only going to share the juicy piece of information with one person but the one person was the town gossip who shared with everyone. Needless to say before we condemn someone else for their actions we need to take a good hard look at our own because the way in which we judge will be the way in which God judges us.
