God as Our Foundation Brings Victory!
I’m sure there is a day when we all look back and see how gracious God has been. I have been fortunate to have a few of those moments, but I understand that not everyone has. That’s where FAITH comes in.
Sometimes, as believers, we look at the world, at our lives, at all that is going on and think “are you sure I’m on the winning side?” With the bully at school, or the impossible decision, or the class we can’t seem to do well in, the relationship with a professor/boss/friend/coworker that seems impossible to fix.
Even if we are not facing some huge disease or crisis in life, things like this can sometimes get under our skin, and if we aren’t careful, we begin to feel like we’ve lost: that somehow all those who aren’t striving for this life in Christ are somehow better off that we.
Take a moment and encourage your heart today with Psalm 18:35. “you have given me YOUR shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great.” Break it down. The victory doesn’t come from US, our ability to do what the world deems important, to gain what the world considers gain, or even to fulfill our own standards of what seems to be the goal in life. It HAS COME from Christ, who HAS ALREADY brought victory and has been so gracious as to give it to us as a SHIELD to protect us from the days, thoughts, seasons of life that sometimes seem hopeless. The knowing that HE HAS WON protects our hearts and minds of faith! “YOUR HELP HAS MADE ME GREAT!!”
So, if you’re discouraged, try to take a moment, and bask in the promise that greatness is not measured in the here and now, it is in trusting in the shield of Victory that has already been purchased and placed in our hearts as a protection from all we face in this broken world. If we trust in Him, we WILL one day stand in eternity, in the realization of all that God has done and FINALLY understand His plan! Have a GREAT day!
