Calm the Storm

“And he said to them, ‘Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?’ Then he arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.” -Matthew 8:26

When we have God as our foundation, we don’t have to worry about anything that could come our way. Think about it: all Jesus has to do is speak and the wind and the waves obey him. We have that power protecting us when we have God as our foundation!

What kinds of storms are in your life? No matter what they are, Jesus is in control. In fact, you don’t have any reason to be worried about them in the first place! In Matthew 8:24, Jesus is asleep while this storm is going on because he knows everything is going to be alright in the end.

When you follow Jesus, there will still be some pretty bad storms in your life. Your life might even get worse, but that’s okay! Don’t be surprised, but trust Jesus as your foundation. You will have a reward in heaven that is so much bigger than any storm you could possibly face!
