Are You Listening?
Do you think you are wise or stupid? Find out King Solomon’s answer for you in Proverbs 12. #YFA #iDevo #BeWise
One of the toughest things we will ever deal with is constructive criticism. It is when someone has to correct or rebuke you for something and our flesh generally wants to rise up and defend ourselves. Especially if we think we the criticism is not fully warranted. King Solomon though realized that not everyone is perfect. We all make mistakes and we all have things we can grow and be trained in. The question is will we receive it or ignore it? When you embrace discipline or correction it means you are trying to become better and do better. It is the quality of a leader and something we have to embrace as believers if we want to become more and more like Christ because he will continually wok to refine us and remove the impurities, imperfections, and faults each of us have.
On the flip side is when we ignore the the justified correction, rebuke, or criticism. We say we do not want to improve, we do not want to better ourselves, and we end up staying in the same place making the same mistakes over and over again. So the next time you have to be corrected, take a moment and reflect and see if there is any truth to it. Because whether it is only partially justified or fully justified there are things we can take and continue to grown in.
