Dealing with Grief: The Purpose of Pain

“Now this I know: the LORD gives victory to His anointed. He answers him from His heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of His right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise and stand firm. LORD, give victory to the king! Answer us when we call!” –Psalm 20:6-9

Do you sometimes find yourself in a pain so great you can’t even fathom a way to overcome it? Perhaps you even feel as though you are all alone in this trial, and that no one can even understand what is going on with you. Well, it turns out you’re not the only one who’s ever felt that way before. King David has felt helpless several times in his life, and during all of those times he has leaned on the LORD to see him through.

Grief and pain are always relative to the person and are always manifested in different ways. If you are going through something that is really taking a toll on you I want to encourage you that you are not walking through it alone. As long as you trust in the name of the LORD above all other things, everything will all work out in the end. He will ALWAYS protect those who love Him.

Grief also always has a purpose. Remember that everything He allows you to go through in your life is only to make you stronger, and that He will be there every step of the way.
