Preparing for Easter: Be Ready

Read Matthew 24:29-51

“Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” -Matthew 24:44

This chapter can seem scary if you really think about what it says, because it talks about the end times and how bad it will be for everyone on earth. But it also encourages those of us who believe because of this: Jesus is coming back! Not only did Jesus die and rise from the grave and then into heaven, he is also returning for us!

There is a lot I could say about what will happen in the end times, but let’s focus on the time right before the end times instead. Jesus is coming back very soon, and we are likely coming upon the end times extremely rapidly. This means that Jesus might come back while you’re still alive.

Are you ready? I think this question is too important for you to glance over, so I’m going to say it again. Are you ready? Keep watch. Pray fervently. Share the gospel. Love people. The time is near when Jesus will reveal himself on the earth. Be ready, my brothers and sisters. Be ready!
