All for Good!

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” -Romans 8:28

Yesterday we talked about how the Holy Spirit prays for us and helps us to pray, too. Since the Holy Spirit prays for us, we know that God will be at work in our lives. Let’s pick up from there.

Because we know God is at work in our lives, we can be assured that all things will work together for our good, because God is good! We know that “there is no unrighteousness in him.” (Psalm 92:15b) Psalm 100:5 says, “For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” We hear the same words in Romans echoed in Psalm 31:19 which says, “Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you.”

God is good, and he works for your good as the Holy Spirit prays for you! So love the Lord. Spend time with him. Don’t be afraid to approach him. God is not going to destroy you if you seek him. He desires for you to come to him and repent of your sins. “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) Come to him who works for your good!
