Helping Others

One of the challenges we can face as believers is in helping others. Our human nature and society in general has a desire to focus on one’s self and not other people. The idea is to look out for number 1 before you worry about others. The kingdom of God though is different. The idea of focusing on number 1 is a foreign concept to Jesus and he continually demonstrates a servants heart and servant inspired leadership. We as his followers must in the same way demonstrate putting others first. Isaiah even gives a reminder not to repay evil with evil and continually love and help others. So today, take some times to check your heart and motivations and make sure your focus in on serving and helping others and not yourself.
