The Rest of the Story ...

Need a reminder today . . . about eternity . . . about what is awaiting you when you leave this world if you are believer . . . about the hope that we as Christians have?? Check out 1 Thessalonians 4!

In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Paul is comforting the Thessalonians with the promise of the Resurrection. He wanted them to understand that death is not the end of the story! Many of their fellow believers had died, so he is encouraging them by telling them what will happen when Christ returns. Because Jesus died and was raised back to life again, those believers who have died will be brought back to life. They will rise from their graves first and then we which are alive and remain will also be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord!

Not only do the Thessalonians have the promise of the Resurrection, but we do too! We can also be encouraged and comforted by Paul’s teaching. The scriptures tell us that we don’t have to grieve like those who have no hope. ALL believers will one day stand reunited in God’s very presence! No matter what we go through in this life on earth, we can rest assured that one day we will see Him face to face.  Our tragedy will be turned into triumph, our pain into glory, and what we see as defeat into victory! Death is not the end of the story, but just the beginning of . . . THE REST OF THE STORY!!
