Tempting Is In His DNA!

Do you feel like the devil tempts you 24/7?  Are the temptations getting harder and harder to resist?  Are there times you just feel like giving up?  You’re not alone!  Read 1 Thessalonians 3 for some encouragement.

Birds fly South in the winter.  They chirp and sing in the Spring.  Flowers and grass grow into beautiful colors as the weather gets warmer.  Dogs bark when strangers or other dangers approach.  The sun rises every day in the East and sets in the West.  People sweat when they work outside in the midst of a 90 degree day.  Why do all of these things happen?  Is there any logical explanation?  YES!  YES!  YES!  All of these things happen, respectfully, because for every unique creation, these reactions or responses are in their DNA!  God made them that way!

You’re being tempted by the Devil because tempting is what he does.  It’s in his DNA!  It’s the result of rebellion and anger and malice when he was kicked out of heaven for trying to become God Himself (see Isaiah 14:12-15).  Don’t give him the time of day!  Resist him and he will flee from you!  Through Christ, you have the power to rebuke him and negate his deadly assault on your life.  ALL rulers of darkness and principalities and forces of evil have been defeated (see Ephesians 6:10-18).  Stand victorious in Christ!  Quit the pity party!  You ARE more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens you (see Romans 8:35-39).

Today’s a new day.  Walk in victory.  Let the words of Paul in 1 Thessalonians 3:13 encourage you . . . “May he (God) strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.”  Don’t give Satan the time of day.  Don’t fall prey to his devices.  Why?  Because “TEMPTING IS IN HIS DNA!”  BUT VICTORY IS IN YOURS!
