RE: REmove - REpair - REstore
God wants each of us to be clothed in humility. In Ephesians 4:2-3 Paul talks about how we must be humble. It says,
Ephesians 4:2-3 “Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.”
When there is conflict there are three things we can do.
RE-move – Sometimes we simply need to be quiet even if we think we are right. It is called being humble and gentle and allowing others to try. Sometimes the best way to have peace is to REMOVE our opinion and have a patience.
RE-pair – There are times in conflict where our pride has gotten the better of us. Sometimes we need to REPAIR broken relationships and we need to humble ourselves and ask forgiveness. We are not perfect and neither are the people around us. So make an allowance for someone else’s faults and admit your own.
RE-store – There are times in conflicts where we were right or the other person wronged us. Don’t let pride keep you from humbling yourself and restoring a relationship. God has called us to make every effort to RESTORE relationship and be united. Sometimes that is being the better person by clothing ourselves in humility and seeking peace.
Which RE in conflict do you need to follow today? REmove, or REpair, or REstore?
